Terms and Conditions - Ventnor Towers Hotel

1. HOTEL ACCOMMODATION

Ventnor Towers Hotel accommodation is available over four floors - lower ground, ground, first and second. The hotel does not have a lift. We have a limited number of ground floor, disabled-friendly rooms available - please specify at the time of booking if you have difficulty with stairs. Our Restaurant and Bar area are located on the lower ground floor (accessed by 15 steps with a handrail on the right hand side), however, alternative arrangements for dining can be made in our ground floor conservatory. The hotel does not have a lift, however, we have an 'Evac-Chair' for guests who wish to take meals in the Restaurant - please let us know if you would like to make use of this facility during your stay. Check-in time is from 13:00hrs. Check-out time is by 11:00hrs. Last check-in time is 20:00hrs unless advised in advance. The hotel does not employ a night porter.

All hotel rooms have en-suite facilities, tea/coffee making facilities, flat-screen 'FreeView' television and telephone. We do not have air-conditioning. Wi-Fi is included in your price - the strongest signal is in the main hotel lounge and we do not guarantee connectivity in hotel bedrooms. In-room telephone charges may apply for telephone calls made from hotel bedrooms, however, owing to limited mobile telephone signal, these costs are kept to a minimum.

2. HOTEL RESTAURANT

Please advise at time of booking should any members of your party have any dietary requirements. We are happy to cater for special diets if advised in advance. Evening meal is served between 19:00hrs and 20:30hrs. Please note that we will not be able to serve the full evening menu after this time, other than in exceptional circumstances. Breakfast is served between 07.30hrs and 09.30hrs during the week and 08.00hrs and 10.00hrs at weekends. Room service for breakfast is available at an additional charge of 3.00 per order. No reductions can be made for meals not taken except in exceptional circumstances.

3. CHILDREN

Children are welcome at Ventnor Towers Hotel throughout the year. A child is classed as a young person up to the age of 14. Please ensure that all children under the age of 14 are supervised at all times by a responsible adult. Travel cots and high chairs are available for guests' use - please advise whether you will be requiring these items during your stay. A Children's Menu is available from 18:00hrs to 19:30hrs. Baby listening is available in all hotel rooms via the telephone system (we do not guarantee that baby monitors work throughout the hotel). We welcome children in our Restaurant when under the supervision of a responsible adult.

4. DOGS

Ventnor Towers Hotel welcomes dogs throughout the year. Please let us know at time of booking if you are planning on bringing your pet with you in order for a suitable room to be allocated to you. Dogs are not allowed in the Restaurant at any time. Alternative dining arrangements can be made for you should you not wish to leave your dog unattended in your hotel room. We request that guests do not leave a dog unattended in hotel accommodation without his/her owner(s) being on the hotel premises. Please see our separate 'Dogs Policy' for further information.

5. SMOKING

Ventnor Towers Hotel operates a non-smoking policy throughout the building, including balconies. A smoking area is available in the bar garden. A non-negotiable charge of 50.00 will be made in the event of guests smoking within the building (including after departure).

6. FERRY TRAVEL

All hotel room and food prices include VAT, unless otherwise stated. All ferry prices are exclusive of VAT. All prices are based on two people sharing a double or twin bedded room and ferry prices are based on up to five people sharing a car. All ferries are based on the Southampton to East Cowes sailings. Please note that ferry supplements may apply at certain times of the day and on selected dates throughout the year. Please advise us if your travel plans are flexible and we will endeavour to find the cheapest option which is suitable for you. Please note that ferry prices can change, dependant on availability.

7. HOTEL FACILITIES

Use of hotel facilities is included in your price. This includes use of the pitch and putt course, outdoor Tennis Court, outdoor heated swimming pool and Games Room. Please note that all facilities are subject to availability and some activities may be weather dependant. The swimming pool is open from April to October, weather permitting. All children must be supervised by a responsible adult. Entertainment is not included in your price. Swimming pool towels, tennis rackets etc. are available for hire at Reception subject to receipt of a deposit. Any damage or theft of hotel equipment will be charged to your hotel account, or following departure, to the card used for payment of your hotel account.

8. DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

You, as the guest, accept full responsibility for any damage or loss to the hotel caused by you or any other member of your party. Costs must be paid to the hotel. Stays may be terminated in the event of misconduct, where justified in the reasonable opinion of the hotel proprietor(s). We do not tolerate abuse of staff, theft or vandalism and will seek re-compense wherever necessary.

9. DEPOSIT PAYMENTS

A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. A reservation will be classed as provisional and a hold date agreed; once this date has passed and if no deposit has been received, the room will be released back on to general allocation and should you come back to us at a later date or time, we cannot guarantee the room will still be available.
A booking will only be classed as a confirmed reservation once the agreed monies have been received. A written confirmation will be sent to you by email or by post once the agreed amount has been received.
Please note: payment with a credit card will incur a 3% surcharge and Amex 5%; there is no extra charge when using a debit card. This policy applies for payments of deposits and hotel accounts.

10. CANCELLATIONS AND AMENDMENTS

Changes by you:: We will do our best to honour any changes which you wish to make to your reservation (including ferries), however, we cannot guarantee that any special requests may be met.

Changes by us:: We will endeavour to contact you should any changes to your reservation be made by the hotel. Alternative options may be offered where appropriate or deemed necessary.

Cancellation by you:: All deposit payments are non-refundable in the event of cancellation. The following charges apply for all reservations in the event of cancellation by the guest:
Cancellation six weeks prior to arrival: 60% of reservation total
Cancellation four weeks prior to arrival: 70% of reservation total
Cancellation two weeks prior to arrival: 80% of reservation total
Cancellation seven days prior to arrival: 90% of reservation total
Cancellation two days prior to arrival: 100% of reservation total

Cancellation by us: Your deposit will be refunded using the same method by which the deposit was paid. The hotel cannot accept liability or pay compensation as a result of 'Force Majeure'. 'Force Majeure' is classed as any event which the hotel could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid, including (but not exhaustive) adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside the hotel's control.
We recommend guests take out holiday insurance when booking their holiday.

11. GUESTS

The hotel operates 24 hours a day and as such, we request that guests move around the hotel in an orderly manner and respect other guests who may be sleeping. Please advise Reception if going out and intending to be late returning in the evening. If guests appear to be under the influence of alcohol and their behaviour is likely to disturb other guests, they may be refused admittance and the night of accommodation charged. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
